The Geode Tower Lamp is a large sculptural lighting object. Built as an assembly of identical modular units, the piece is essentially a building system of lighted blocks. Its geometric surface continually dissolves and reappears as it reacts to light emitted from its interior. Programmed illuminated patterns are transmitted and distorted across the network, as the light bounces to create infinite spatial configurations.
The project builds on a pair of collaborative projects with the artist Casey Reas: Primitives (This Could be an Extraordinary Find) and the 2012 stage design for Yeasayer’s Fragrant World tour.
