Marli New York
Geneva
The design for the Marli New York retail stores always stems from the brand’s origin and identity. However, each store gets a singular character from adaptations to the location. The Geneva shop is uniquely located on a building with two facades, one to the street and one the river. The design, thus, acts like a connection of the two urban arteries through the use of a long barrel vault accentuating the long narrow space and bridging the two sides.

For this store, the vertical corrugation takes on a new life as a metal screen made of blue blades with brass edges cut by a pattern inspired on the brand’s logo. The screen lines the long wall and provides a background for the display cases. This metal backdrop provides privacy from the side windows while breaking down the scale of the space.
The cases are grounded on textured marble bases that hold up a delicate and finely detailed glass and brass box; this is where the collections are displayed. Picking up on the curvature of the ceiling the display case’s base peel backwards to lighten its heavy composition and feature the glass box.

There is an attention to detail throughout, from the corrugated marble wainscotting, to the brass arches. Every material is carefully selected and composed, much like the brand’s jewelry. The flooring is no exception and gets a special treatment with a custom designed parquet pattern that is derived from the monogram.
